⁃ Manual Setup is the most time consuming, but this guide handles it pretty well, and you can be sure all the important stuff is done. ⁃Ĝarbon Copy Clone may be better, since it'll get everything, basically, but if the machines' hardware are very different, you may run into issues with the way certain apps work/are installed, so that's something to be considered. So there is a bit of setup you have to do with this route anyway. You'll have to do some enabling of lower level sys modifications, like Karabiner, cDock, etc. I think it's reasonable to trust it with all of the big stuff, like everything in Documents, etc. Moreover, it missed very small things, like screen saver preference, and widgets in "Today" view, re-register Sublime Text, etc. It most recently took 7 hours in an Apple Store to do, with Thunderbolt 3 connection. ⁃ Really wouldn't recommend Migration Assistant.

⁃ Then, erase the drive with Disk Utility since it'll show up as completely full after the random ⁃ Then, override the volume 2 times random data: ⁃ Then, go into Disk Utility and erase the drive as "Macintosh HD", it will create a little sub-partition of Macintosh HD, restoring its original state. ⁃ Just do diskutil secureErase 2, which is a 7 pass zero erase, and should take around 45 minutes (on a 512gb SSD).
